Right now, I'm watching the Amazing Race finale with my mom and Dave. We all agree this is the first finale where we're happy with all three teams racing towards the finish.
This weekend was nice and relaxing, but I have to admit I haven't started my homework for this week yet. I guess I'm waiting for tomorrow! I'm taking two classes this semester, to the horror of all around me. After the hell of last semester, I can understand, but I'm feeling pretty optimistic. My professors seem laid-back and easy-going. I say that now, but I hope I feel the same in a few weeks.
There's some big news coming about work, but I won't have any details for a few weeks. They're reorganizing our entire department, which means I'll have a new boss (grrrr) but less job responsibilities (woo!). We don't even know how this is going to affect our pay levels or even who the new managers are, but it has some people very worried. I pretty much know what my job title will be, and there's one manager I'm hoping to avoid, but other than that, I'm not complaining. There's not much I can do about it however, so there's no point in worrying, either.
I wish there was more to update, but that's all that seems to be going on in my life right now. Pretty busy! So here's some pictures of all the snow we got last weekend:

I'm the only one at work right now and I like sitting here in the dark. When else can I get away with this?

Yeah, I'm weird.
Yeah, I'm weird.

working
- It's Friday!
- Peter J's coming home this weekend!
- We're going to the Big E tonight! Where:
1) I will eat lots and lots, including:
a) Maine baked potato
b) maple sugar candy
c) fresh cut french fries
d) hawaiian shaved ice
e) apple cider
f) clam fritters
2) there will be no shoes on my face;
3) I plan to buy at least one item from each State Building and something from the Better
Living Center, and maybe even some "fresh from the sheep" yarn;
4) I collect lots of tacky, fake Mardi Gras beads from the parade;
5) maybe, just maybe, steal another RI flag.
I'm feeling ambitious! And slightly sick to my stomach, already.
- Work's almost over! (But I have to come in tomorrow.)
- Cherise will be here for her wedding (!) soon!!
- Dave bought an iPhone and I'm going to spend all weekend playing with it, mwahaha!
I really like exclamation marks!

For once I don't have anything specific to say, and yet here I am posting an entry. I guess I just feel guilty for NEVER POSTING ANYMORE. Lord, it's not even like I don't have anything to post about. I have a ton of pictures to share from Maine, over a month ago, and from Montreal, over two weeks ago. Maybe I'm super lazy? Maybe I spend enough time in front of a computer at work so I avoid it at home? Who knows, but I've got to be better about it.
RANDOM BULLET TIME!
- My g'rents are here for the week since it's my mom's 50th birthday extravaganza this weekend! I'm really excited for the party, which is CHOCOLATE THEMED. Cue the Death by Chocolate cake a co-worker is making for me (the recipe is a top-secret family recipe so she can't even let me know what the ingredients are, but it's effin' amazing, seriously),
emakelle's Frankenstein Dessert of Wonder and Majesty (which I need to start tonight), a chocolate fountain and more. No points counting for me that day!
[Speaking of, if you know where I live and are in the area Saturday afternoon, stop by!]
- I'm very disappointed to discover that the Dunkin' Donuts REDUCED FAT Blueberry Muffin is still 8 points. I don't even want to know how many points are in a normal muffin, and I'm mad at myself because I know better than to believe that a giant muffin is remotely healthy. I had to limit myself to half the muffin, which is totally not satisfying.
- I finally finished my mom's b-day present, which is a beautiful knitted scarf with a leaf pattern. (She doesn't read this, right?) I just need to block it, which I have plenty of time for, her birthday isn't until Friday the 24th. I can't believe I finished it with a whole week to spare! Now I can work on my Market Squares bag without feeling guilty.
- Tracey and Nas got a new puppy and I can't wait to see him tonight! Pictures, I promise.
He deserves his own post, I can tell you that right now.
- I've been really good about going to the YMCA lately. I swim at least two morning before work and I've been going to a weekly step class as well. Tuesday was the first class that clicked for me and I left class energized, rather than wiped out and sore. It's helpful too that I actually work with the instructor here at MM so she encourages me to come each week.
- The cafeteria is playing Elvis all day in honor of the anniversary of his death today. They're also serving a "Remembering Elvis!" style lunch, complete with BBQ and Mac 'n' Cheese. Interesting. I kinda remember seeing an ad with Fluffernutters too, but I could be imagining that one.
- Ugh, so much to say about work but I'll leave it at that.

So, my brother
potuspete just called to complain that there’s absolutely nothing to do in downtown Springfield. Big surprise! After wandering around TowerSquare, eating at Gus & Paul’s, and hanging around the outside of the court house, he was bored and called me. I suggested walking to the library to kill some time, which honestly I would love to do right now. I also suggested hopping on the PVTA up State St to visit me and for lunch at 1, but he declined, hoping that he’d be done waiting by then.
Pete, I’m serious, before summer ends I’m taking you to lunch at the MassMutual cafeteria. Mom and Andrew can come too, I ‘spose.
