I just realized that I never went into work this weekend for some overtime. Oops! At least I finally had a relaxing weekend.
I spent the majority of my weekend either cleaning my room or doing homework. Oh, I also cooked a lot, since my parents went away for an overnight in Northampton last night. I made Neiman Marcus cookies (deliciously chewy!) and tonight we made homemade pizzas. I didn't take any pictures, sorry food pron folks.
My room is very clean, for the first time in a long time.
( Pictorial evidence! )
And since I don't feel like going back to my accounting reading just yet, now about some pictures of ( weird Japanese candy? )

Well, contrary to my own popular belief, I actually accomplished a lot this weekend. I worked and played hard. The link pretty much sums up my work so I'll quickly write up my social accomplishments.
Friday night Andrew and I picked up Peter and we went to Northampton to buy Scott's birthday presents. We had dinner, walked around, bought fudge at the chocolate shop, and generally tried to avoid the large crowds outside the Calvin Theatre. Cake was playing that night and drew a really good crowd, clearly.
Last night I met up with Stef and Dez as Stef was getting out of work and we went to eat at Uno's. Later on, we met up again at Boston Billiards and we had a good time playing really bad pool and drinking really good drinks. Our table was right next to a bachelor party, complete with a blowup doll. Hysterical. We were originally planning on going to Bertucci's for dessert so Stef could get her favorite wine, but we decided we were too hungry so we split a huge pizza instead. Dez had found this story a group of us wrote up in ninth grade and we had a good laugh over that. It was a lot of fun to hung out with the two of them.
Today was Scott's birthday party, so we all drove up to South Deerfield to celebrate. I hardly saw Scott during the whole party because he was with his friends, but my brothers and I amused ourselves. There was a small bounce house so we had fun in that, and we also spent a lot of time hanging around gossiping with all our family friends. At the end of the party, one of my aunt's friend's husband, who's a state cop, managed to have the local helicopter do a couple of fly-bys over their house. All the local traffic pulled over to see what the commotion was. It was a lot of fun! Scott loved the color-changing ball I bought him, and the laser tag set my mom bought him. I told him to tell my aunt to go out one night so I can baby-sit him!
Well, my econ class starts this week so I'm going to get busier. I also have application essays to write, along with the GMATs to study for. I can no longer be justifiably bored. I'm tired just thinking about it all but I'm also excited to be actively learning again! Yay!

I feel like posting yet I don't have much to say. It seems like a first for me. This long weekend has been nothing but relaxation for me. Friday night was my Dad's 50th birthday surprise party. It was a big surprise because his birthday isn't until October 8th but our family friend Marcia decided to throw a joint party for my dad and her husband Skal. The whole thing was a supposed to be a Labor Day picnic. I'm afraid I might have ruined the surprise a bit because I was waiting at a stop light in sketchy Holyoke when my dad, mom, and Andrew pulled up in the van right behind me. I never go to these get togethers ordinarily so my dad could of guessed something was out of place. Then again my dad can be a little dense (I mean this in the nicest way possible, but those of you who know him know what I mean...) so maybe he had no clue. It turned out to be a really good party, and I got to catch up with my parents' friends whom I never get to see. Peter couldn't make it because he was on duty all night, but Marianne came and we hung out with Andrew most of the night. I brought Marianne home a little on the early side, around 9:30, and my parents didn't get home until midnight!
Saturday Andrew and I drove up to visit Peter at his dorm because it was his one day off. I bought myself an external hard drive at the campus store because my computer ran out of space that morning. (I spend too much time downloading TV shows....) We went over to Target and Whole Foods so Pete could buy stuff for his room. Bueno E Sano was giving out free burritos right outside his dorm so we scored free lunch. That night, I met up with Kate and we headed over to West Springfield. We played pool at Boston Billiards for awhile before going to see The Constant Gardener. [Side note: , go see this movie!! Like Erin said, it's totally your movie!] As we left the pool hall, Kate and I were going to drive across the street to the theatre but we'd have to park in the middle of nowhere. The main entrance to the theatre was right across the street however, so we ran across Riverdale Road and jumped over the divider. It was a thrill, let me tell you. Heh.
Yesterday I picked up Tracey for breakfast where we proceeded not to order wraps like we always do. We branched out and ordered omelets! I dropped her off at her parents' house and I never left! Tricia took the day off of work and we hung around all day watching really bad TV. We watched many episodes of What Not to Wear on BBC America, a terrible special on Lindsay Lohan's fashion sense (or lack thereof), and the very best was the Polish soap opera, Plebania, on the Polish community access channel. (That website isn't going to be very useful unless you speak Polish, which I don't...) Of course none of us understand Polish but we made up the plotlines as we went along. There was a doctor who went around his practice proposing to all the nurses/female doctors with this hideous bouquet of flowers. There was the token drunk and the blonde who tries to rescue him from his dank hotel room. There was the token slut and her affair with the priest. And there was this older woman, the mother of the slut, who couldn't afford to pay her church dues and made this whole scene in the middle of the homily. Tricia and I deduced that she was ashamed to give the church her whore daughter's dirty money. Only a Polish soap opera would have a church subplot! There were also the worst Polish commercials, all for delis selling random Polish goods and lots of kielbasa. Afterwards, we went to the Eastfield Mall and Old Navy. I bought a blazer but I'm not sure how I feel about it yet. I might return it.
Today I went to lunch at Friendly's with Stef. I ordered my usual, a Turkey Club supermelt, and they didn't get my order right because they brought me a chicken club sandwich, which is just a regular chicken sandwich. I'd be okay with it but this happens every single time I go to Friendly's. No wonder I never eat there anymore. Not to mention it's a huge rip off price-wise.
I should probably go to the gym before it closes at 5 but I'm not really motivated. I don't feel like driving to Chicopee, plus it's so nice out that I'm tempted to read outside. I might go for a walk or a bike ride after dinner.
Oh, my Econ class starts next week and the prof emailed me back to let me know which book I need to buy. The good news? There's only one book and it cost me $30! Sweet!
This is the first real post in a long while that hasn't included any pictures. I just felt the need to mention that.
Speaking of pictures, I'm still posting Florida pictures over on
