First snow, yay!

I woke up this morning to snow. Big, fat, wet snowflakes. Lots of them collecting on my car, the patio, the driveway. We got a whole 1.5" worth! It totally offset the root canal I had this morning. {Note: It was not that bad, just like an extended filling, not more pain-wise. Plus I had to use a genuine dental dam. Ha!}

Oh yeah, I got personalized plates. Like them? :)

I also did a lot of baking! )

I just realized that I never went into work this weekend for some overtime. Oops! At least I finally had a relaxing weekend.

I spent the majority of my weekend either cleaning my room or doing homework. Oh, I also cooked a lot, since my parents went away for an overnight in Northampton last night. I made Neiman Marcus cookies (deliciously chewy!) and tonight we made homemade pizzas. I didn't take any pictures, sorry food pron folks.

My room is very clean, for the first time in a long time.
Pictorial evidence! )

And since I don't feel like going back to my accounting reading just yet, now about some pictures of weird Japanese candy? )

It snowed for the first time on Tuesday, and I'm late posting these because I'm just that insanely busy.

Two more behind the cut )

It must have been due to the snow dance to the gods I did in my sleep Monday night, huh Erin?

Yup, I'm the biggest dork ever...

Dave and I went to see The Da Vinci Code tonight. In the middle of the movie, they're discussing the emperor Constantine and the first meeting of the Council of Nicaea. I was able to lean over to Dave and say excitedly, "Today is the exact anniversary of the First Council of Nicaea!" How the hell did I know this? I read Wikipedia earlier today and noticed it on the front page. God, I think that's a Peter-esque dorky thing to happen.

In other news, I took my finance final exam yesterday and I think I might have passed. I just don't care anymore. Interesting how cramming makes me want to smoke cloves. Huh. But now it's officially my summer! Rejoice!

I hung around the house all day today except for when my family dragged me to a church tag sale my dad was organizing. Of course they were selling complete crap, but I managed to score a sweet pair of Brett Somers-esque sunglasses. For a quarter! Hot!

Sadly my dad didn't buy the glasses he's sporting in the picture.

My grandmother and aunts also showed up at the same time. Andrew had a good time, despite Auntie Do trying to maim him with a bread knife.

God, it's almost 3 and I'm not even tired. Does sushi have caffeine because that's the last thing I ate........

Yeah, I know I'm weird.

So THAT'S what the sun looks like!

  • May. 17th, 2006 at 3:10 PM
I love it!
It's gorgeous out, solely because the sun is out and it's over 60 degrees. I'm depressed just thinking about the fact that it's supposed to rain for a whole nother week. Bah!

Last week was my birthday. It was an okay day; I always look forward to May 10th with such hope and I usually have the worst luck on that day. For example:

- I found out my douchbag ex was cheating on me several years ago on my birthday.

- While is Scotland on my birthday, I managed to wind up with the world's worst hangover and then subjected myself to my grandfather's driving.

- Two years ago, all senior work was due on my birthday, so I pulled the best all-nighter ever, the perfect way to finish all college work. Documentation of the all-nighter is here, which is pretty hilarious, if I do say so myself.

- Last year, Tracey and I headed out to Wrentham to the outlets and my car died on the side of the Mass Pike. I spent the majority of my birthday in a random autoshop in Worcester.

This year wasn't that bad, honestly. I took a couple of days off of work and I hung around the house. I wasn't feeling that great but it was nice to just relax. I was in a bad mood by the time my family and I went to dinner because of a lovely combination of the following:

- severe cramps
- discovering I only had a week to finish my Finance class (i.e. finish half the material and take the exam)
- my cat fucking biting my toe and giving me three puncture wounds.

Thankfully dinner was a lot of fun. Auntie Carol and Scott met us in Northampton and the food was really good. I got some loot too!

- Money towards a new bike from the 'rents and AC
- a bucket o' margaritas
- the third season of Scrubs (YAY!)
- a SWEET camera from [info]potuspete!!
- a cute Starbucks mug and giftcard

Here are some of the pictures from dinner, they're pretty funny!
My family's crazy! )

I figured it was only fitting to update my Christmas pictures while eating one of the last pieces of Friendly's Jubilee Roll. Yum.

Holiday Picture Update Part 1

Happy New Year's and Happy Holidays!

My holidays were quite relaxing even though they were quite lacking in the holiday spirit. I blame this solely on the fact that the top third of the lights on our Christmas tree went out about three weeks ago; my mom refused to take the ornaments down to re-string the lights. Not cool, very depressing... but what can I say? I'm a sucker for tradition and it was lacking this year. Rather than continue my tirade and rambling, I decided a recap of the past week in pictures will suffice.

In other sad news, my brother's ex-girlfriend confirmed that Anthony Rapp, AKA Mark from Rent, is gay. So sad!

Oh well, it was all about the emo glasses and scarf anyways.

My update in pictures

Well, as always, I've been crazy busy lately. I'm in charge of organizing Customer Service Appreciation Week for my department, which is this week, starting tomorrow. I've been attending meetings and gathering ideas for the past three weeks, and let me tell you: I will be so glad when this week is over! I worked a ten-hour day Friday, and I have to go in extra early tomorrow to decorate the place. Fun. At least I can justify buying Dunkin' Donuts though. Yum.

So rather than bore y'all with the inane details of my life so far, I decided to document the highlights in photos. In two of the three cases, The Big E was involved. The Big E is New England's country fair, and it September it takes over West Springfield. My favorite parts of the fair are the State Buildings; a row of full-size replicas of each New England state's state house. You start in New Hampshire and work your way down to Rhode Island, eating and shopping from the best the state has to offer. Each year I have to hit up MY favorites: lip balm from NH, maple sugar, cider slushies and Otter Creek beer from VT, loaded baked potato from Maine, and clam fritters and Del's lemonade from RI. Thankfully I didn't eat all of that in one trip. My dad, Andrew and I went last Sunday, and Andrew and I went again on Thursday.

The first trip was fun but not that exciting )

And why did we have to go back a second time? )

And finally, the absolute highlight of these past couple of weeks. It's going to make this tough week go by fast if I have something this amazing to look forward to.

The Red Sox won the Wild Card!!! )
